Take a look at any freelance job listings, and you'll see that the ability to meet deadlines is in high demand among writers. Throw in the fact that many writers work from home on their own schedule and at their own pace, and you've got a potential recipe for disaster! Try some of these strategies to beat procrastination:
Walk Away.
That's not the first item you thought you'd see on a list about beating procrastination, is it? But it's true. Sometimes we procrastinate for legitimate reasons. Are you burned out? Are you writing against your circadian rhythms? Maybe the best thing you can do for your writing is not to force it.
Get Some Inspiration.
There's a particular place in the world that I could not live without visiting as often as possible.

Reward Yourself.
If you have children, you probably saw this one coming. Make a deal with yourself. Decide that you will allow yourself a break (or a nap, or a piece of chocolate, or a relaxing walk outside...) if you can just manage to work for two hours straight. Then, keep your side of the bargain!
