Mengemas Kenangan

Di antara serpihan yang terserak, keping cemerlang itu berpendar
Melesat, menghampiri, lalu menyesaki benak
Menyapu setiap sudut dalam perjalanan ke masa silam
Memunguti sisa-sisa mimpi yang tercecer
Memburamkan pandangan
Memutar kembali peristiwa lalu yang tak henti berkelebat
Menghirup sepenuh haru aroma manis yang pernah melenakan
Mencecap setiap rasa yang datang silih berganti
Meraba jejak-jejak perjalanan yang bertebaran di sana-sini
Merutuki diri untuk bodohnya satu dusta yang dulu terucap
Dusta atas nama ketidakpercayaan pada luasnya kemungkinan
Dusta yang meluluhlantakkan sebuah harga diri, kepercayaan, harapan
Dan makna 
Maka ruang dan waktu harus terentang
Begitu lebar, panjang, melelahkan dan menyesakkan
Hingga langkah sempat limbung dan akal sehat terombang-ambing
Perih menusuk laksana duri menancapi otak
Tapi mengapa sesal itu terus saja menghunjam,
setelah maaf diberikan tulus dalam genggam? 

Angkat dagu!
Ini saatnya mengemas kenangan
Karena sekarang semua telah mendarat di tempat yang seharusnya
Beranjak
Dan melanjutkan perjalanan
Lalu menatap keping yang sama
Dengan rasa yang baru dari hati yang lapang
Sekuat baja
Semurni emas

Developing English Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet using Content-Based Instruction (CBI) Approach for Vocational Senior Secondary School in Indonesia: Implementation Stage

Dr. Sultan is a senior lecturer at the English Department, Faculty of Languages and Literature, State University of Makassar, Indonesia. He completed his PhD in Bilingual Education at the School of Arts, Victoria University Australia. His research interests are bilingual education/CLIL, language policy, TESOL/TEFL, and applied linguistics.




This is a research and developmental study (R&D) which aims to develop English lesson plan and student worksheet using content-based instruction (CBI) approach for Grade X students of vocational senior secondary schools (SMKs) in South Sulawesi Province. The developmental model applied in this study was Borg&Gall model (1989). The study involved English teachers and students of vocational senior secondary schools (SMKs) in Makassar and Gowa. This study is designed for three years (2015-2017). In the first year (2015), the study focused on designing these teaching materials (lesson plan and student worksheet). The teaching materials that had been designed in the first year (2015) were implemented in the second year (2016). The study reported in this paper was the result of the implementation stage, which was the students and teachers’ perceptions on the new teaching material designs obtained through observation, students and teachers’ interviews. Some of the key findings were: (i) most of the English teachers at vocational senior secondary schools in the sample schools claimed that they have not known about the approach before introduced in this current study; (ii) the teachers still experienced difficulties in applying this approach; (iii) most of the students believed that in general this approach increased their interests in studying English; (iv) in addition this also increased their motivation. However, the students also complained about the teachers’ abilities in implementing the approach in the classroom. Detailed findings will be presented and their implications discussed. Bahasa Ngapak di atas Pentas


     Bahasa atau dialek menunjukkan identitas bangsa atau suku. Kenyataan bahwa penggunaan bahasa daerah di kalangan generasi muda semakin jarang, membuat saya berbahagia melihat anak-anak muda yang aktif berbahasa/dialek daerah di panggung stand up komedi.
     Bahasa Ngapak (dialek Banyumasan) digunakan di wilayah barat Jawa Tengah. Berbeda dengan bahasa Jawa pada umumnya, dalam bahasa ngapak akhiran 'a' tetap diucapkan 'a' bukan 'o', misalnya: kata lungo (pergi) dilafalkan lunga. Bunyi 'k' di akhir dibaca penuh dan kuat. Orang Jawa pada umumnya melafalkan kata enak dengan ena', sedangkan dalam dialek Banyumasan dibaca enak dengan suara huruf 'k' yang sangat jelas.
